“To what extent is it possible to use a haptic foot interface as an input device to control the menu of media content in vehicle?”

GOAL
Enhance the interaction with the vehicle and explore new way how to be always connected to the virtual world.

THEME
Explore other four senses, in particular, touch, hearing, smell and taste, for possible solutions of interaction with the vehicle while being connected to the virtual world. The ideal solution is a low cost product or the one that could evolve to low cost. The general task of the project ConSenses was to create and design new methods of driver’s communication and interaction with a vehicle by fulfilling these requirements:

SPECIFICATIONS
The concept of foot-pad is to control mobile phone of a driver’s mobile phone through basic movements of the foot. The connection bridge between mobile phone and infotainment system of a car would be also established to have access to the audio and other functionalities. The general idea could be explained in more details by these touch points:
